David Austin Roses Gardens

If you live in Shropshire or the West Midlands, here’s the prettiest place for an afternoon out - David Austin Roses in Albrighton.

A little slice a floral heaven.

But first, fuel your trip at the tea room which is hidden away in one of the converted barn buildings. The cheese scones come highly recommended.

Tea is served in the most beautiful floral tea pots and fine bone China cups and saucers.

The gardens are fabulous for a wander around. We visited on a very British day of showers, but is there anything better than the smell of roses drying off after a shower?

And, when in Rome, pop into the garden centre shop. Complete with the most beautiful bohemian interiors to decorate your home.

Lastly, finish your trip by stopping off at the restaurant for a glass of wine, or tea in my companion’s case, and a slice of cake. I opted for the chocolate and beetroot and it was delicious.

They also have an incredible menu full of locally sourced ingredients. Well worth a visit if you’re after a larger lunch.

Bloomin’ marvellous.
